Shoe Chronicles: Oh my October *swoon*

Winter is back with avengence! Time to bring out the thermals and get cozy. Naturally the shoe of choice for this season are boots. In fact they are a must!

No reason to keep it plain though. Rocking a pair of these fabulous Guiseppe Zanotti boots, you will have people swooning around your feet and with their voices full of admiration saying "Oh my..."

It was 😍 at first sight ❤️❤️❤️

Until the next shoe find...

Don't push me coz I'm close to the edge...

...I'm trying not to loose my head...

Sometimes taking a few days to yourself can be the difference between you keeping your sanity and ending up on MI-5's most wanted (though I wouldn't be against a rough and tumble with Daniel Craig's 007). With the temperature dropping, the best way to catch the 'feel-good' feeling is with a bit of good ol' vitamin D. I opted for a weekend trip to sud de la France

For less than a train ticket to Warrington, you can find yourself in the air on your way to the sun. My area of choice was the quaint area of Beziers, nicely tucked away amongst vineyards. The only snag is the airline you have to settle with. As long as you are happy to brave budget airlines such as EastJet or RyanAir, you can find yourself by the enjoying a great meal by the canal.

Enjoying a meal of Canard aux pêches (Duck with peach)

I even tried snails in a garlic and bacon sauce...tre bien

In fact when I booked, a return ticket from Beziers was about £60! (Via RyanAir and leaving from London Luton airport)

It's not a party area on the riviera so don't expect late night bars and clubs. This is place you come to totally get away from the big smoke.

Lovely day in the sun on the Canal du Midi

So what are you waiting for? Get some well deserved R&R :)

Jusqy'à la prochaine fois...

Who made your clothes? Time to turn them #INSIDEOUT

Do you know where you clothes came from? The conditions they were made in? The people who made them? These are the questions that are being asked today (on the 24th April). For most of us the answer to these questions is ‘no’. As long as the clothes look good on the hanger when it’s time to buy, where they came from is not an important issue. In reality it should be. Just as we are more concerned about where our food comes from we should also be aware of where our clothes originate from.

On 24th April 2013, tragedy struck the Rana Plaza in Bangladesh. A factory which made clothes for high street brands collapsed killing and injuring thousands of people. It was known that the building was unsafe but due to the need to meet garment quotas created by shoppers like us nothing was done to improve the conditions. In fact workers were made to work in unsafe conditions with bad wages and often suffered abuse from their employers.

Fashion Revolution Day was to created to commemorate the incidents Rana Plaza incident and get people asking questions about how their clothes were made. With enough people asking questions, we can incite changes so tragedies like those that happened in Bangladesh don't happen again.

Their current campaign #insideout challenges you wear your clothes inside out. The exposed labels will highlight the brands you have chosen to wear and will get you thinking 'how ethical is this brand?'. For more information about the cause and things you can do to support, check out www.fashionrevolution.org

I showed my support by getting involved in a Fashion Revolution Day inside out shoot which was organised by creative director Emma Slade founder and stylist of Back of the Wardrobe (www.backofthewardrobe.com). She brought together a group of fabulous women who want to do their bit for ethical fashion. They include:
Katie Jones from K2TOGDesigns (www.k2togdesign.co.uk)
Tida and Lisa Finch from Finchittida Finch (wwww.finchittidafinch.com)
Abadesi (www.cloakandswagger.com)
Danielle Ward (www.littlefashbird.com)
